Niger Coup: Military Seizes President and Shuts Borders, Biden Admin Furious

The military in Niger has seized President Mohamed Bazoum, declared his government at an end, and closed the country’s borders, angering the Biden administration in the United States.

“[W]e, the defense and security forces, under the National Council for the Safeguard of the Homeland (CNSP), have decided to put an end to the regime you know,” declared an officer identified as Colonel Major Amadou Abdramane in a televised address.
