Police in Bristol have attempted to ban Dia Moodley, a father of four, from commenting on other religions. Moodley has been doing occasional street evangelism for five years.
In 2021, the police ‘warned’ him not to comment on or compare religions, including atheism and the evolution myth, with Christianity.
Moodley successfully challenged the warning in court. The police were recently forced to admit that their restrictions on speech were “disproportionate”.
Commenting on the police intimidation, Moodley told Adf.uk (27 February) that “this creeping culture of censorship is detrimental to all of us in society, whatever we believe, and we must challenge it wherever we see it”.
